Immerse yourself in the art of ceramics with this two-day intensive workshop, designed for all skill levels. Discover sculpting techniques and focus on creating larger, more expressive forms.
Day 1: Foundations & Building Large Forms
- Introduction to working with clay: techniques, tools, and best practices for sculpting.
- Learn the essentials of hand-building, focusing on creating larger forms using pinching, coiling, and slab-building techniques (wheel throwing available upon request).
- Explore structural integrity and balance for bigger pieces.
- Break for lunch (1 hour).
- Afternoon session: Begin shaping your large-scale creations, incorporating textures and organic design elements.
Day 2: Refining & Sculptural Details
- Refine and perfect your forms, focusing on details and finishing touches.
- Experiment with surface decoration techniques like carving, stamping, and adding bold textures.
- Explore color and design with underglazes to enhance sculptural details.
- Break for lunch (1 hour).
- Afternoon session: Finalize your pieces, preparing them for firing.

Your completed works will be ready for collection approximately 4–6 weeks after the workshop, following bisque firing and glazing.
